The federal government’s tax reform plan, introduced this week, is expected to slash the top federal rate from 39.6 per cent to 30 per cent, reduce the standard deduction and replace it with a “living wage.”

But the federal government hasn’t released the details of the proposed changes, including how they would affect the top tax rate, which was set at 39.8 per cent in the 2015 budget.
