New Zealand’s Government has confirmed that it has an investigation into the discovery of a mysterious flying object in New Zealand, prompting an emergency meeting of parliament.
According to the NZ Herald, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) is conducting an inquiry into the object.
“We are conducting an investigation to determine the facts surrounding the discovery,” the report read.
The report also said that a team of experts had been sent to the island of Manus and is looking into the sightings.
In March, the US Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which gave President Donald Trump the authority to declare war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group.
However, the NDAA also has a provision which allows for the President to authorize the use of military force against suspected terrorist groups in any country that is a member of the US.
That means the US President can act unilaterally against any group that poses a threat to the US and could be designated a state sponsor of terrorism.
