The Federal Government is watching the hiring of contractors for federal government contract jobs.

The Department of Homeland Security is looking to hire more people to work on its computer systems and security services in the event of a natural disaster.

DHS Inspector General Thomas R. Perez has said the agency is also reviewing its hiring practices and will be working with the Federal Communications Commission to help ensure all contracts are filled in a timely manner.

He said in a statement, “While the department’s contracting practices are reviewed regularly, DHS is reviewing its policies to ensure they are consistent with federal law and the needs of DHS and its agencies.”
